Q-Sourcing Limited, trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec, is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
On behalf of our Tanzania based client, we are looking for a competent and experienced Logistics & Supply Chain Officer.
Descriptions.
The ideal candidate will be involved in manage the sourcing, transportation, and customs clearance of raw materials for mining operations with deep knowledge of logistics landscape.
Job Location: Kigoma and Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Raw Material Sourcing: Identify and coordinate the procurement of raw materials from various international and regional suppliers.
- Transportation Management: Plan and execute efficient transport solutions for incoming and outgoing Trucks, shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Customs and Compliance: Oversee customs clearance processes, ensuring adherence to Tanzanian regulations and international trade policies.
- Supplier and Carrier Coordination: Establish strong relationships with logistics providers, freight forwarders, and local transport companies.
- Cost Optimizations: Analyze transport routes, negotiate rates, and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining efficiency and quality.
- Risk Management: Identify potential supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, operations, and finance teams to align logistics strategies with business goals.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and compliance requirements for audits and reporting.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in logistics and supply chain management in mining sector.
- Strong understanding of customs clearance procedures and import/export regulations.
- Experience in coordinating international transportation for bulk materials.
ADDED ADVANTAGE
- Knowledge of logistics software and tracking systems.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage relationships with freight providers.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on cost efficiency and operational improvement.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent computer and MS Excel skills.
