On behalf of our Tanzania based client, we are looking for a competent and experienced Human Resource Manager.

POSITION IN THE ORGANISATION:

Job Location: Bagamoyo – Kerege

MISSION AND JOB DIMENSION:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resource Manager to lead and manage all HR functions in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership and operational HR experience, particularly in managing large blue-collar and multi-shift workforces.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ACTIVITIES

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Advise senior leadership on workforce planning and organizational design.
  • Oversee end-to-end talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention strategies.
  • Maintain strong relations with labor unions; lead negotiations and conflict resolution processes.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Tanzanian labor laws and industry regulations.
  • Drive the implementation of robust performance evaluation systems and reward programs.
  • Promote a positive work culture and high levels of employee engagement.
  • Identify training needs and lead employee development initiatives.
  • Oversee payroll operations and benefits administration; ensure accuracy using HRIS systems.
  • Prepare HR analytics reports and manage special projects or directives from senior leadership.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Law, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Strong understanding and compliance with Tanzanian labor laws.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale blue-collar and multi-shift teams.
  • Hands-on experience in labor relations and union negotiations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and leadership capabilities.
  • Proficient in HRIS/payroll software (e.g., SAP, Workpay, or similar systems).
  • Prior HR experience in Tanzania or the East Africa region is highly preferred.

REQUIRED COMPENTENCIES:

  • Ability to empathize, manage conflict, and build strong working relationships.
  • Ability to resolve employee issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Sound judgment and timely decision-making in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to align HR strategy with long-term business objectives.

ADDED ADVANTAGE:

  • Familiarity with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and employee wellness programs.
