Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled and experienced IT Officer to work in Kampala, Uganda.

Job Purpose:

The company is seeking an IT Officer whose role will be is to provide overall IT support for the company in Uganda. In addition, contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and forms for ICT and ensure that they are consistently applied.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Website and Digital Marketing: Handle website updates and maintenance, ensuring that content is current and the site functions properly. Manage social media pages and support digital marketing efforts. (SEO / Canva, Adobe Suite (AI, PS) or Corel Draw).
• Software Development and Graphic Design: Handle software development tasks and create graphic designs as needed to support the organization’s marketing and communication efforts.
• System and Data Security: Ensure system and data security is maintained at a high standard, implementing and monitoring security measures to protect the organization’s information assets.
• Hardware and Software Installation: Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and applications to meet the organization’s needs.
• Network and System Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
• Technical Support: Provide first point of IT support for all staff, offering timely and effective solutions to technical problems.
• User Account Management: Set up new users’ accounts and profiles, dealing with email and password issues as they arise.
• User Support and Training: Provide first-line assistance to users when problems with systems arise, ensuring they can effectively utilize systems and technologies.
• Data Backup and Recovery: Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical data and systems.
• Hardware Maintenance and Repair: Repair and replace parts as required to maintain the functionality of IT equipment.
• Technology Guidance: Provide information or guidance notes to employees to ensure best practice use of existing technologies and systems.
• System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor server activity, network activity, security activity, backup activity, and disk usage to ensure continuity of service to users; engage in preventative maintenance or works.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least a Bachelor’s degree Computer Science or any IT related field.
• Certification from CISCO is an added advantage.

Experience:

• At least 3 years working experience in a reputable organization.
• Knowledge on Installation, configuration and troubleshooting for operating systems, computer office suites, e-mail and inter/intranet.
• Full stack Web Development. (PHP – Laravel, NodeJS, Bootstrap5, tKinter & Python Scripting)
• Virus protection software and identifying, addressing and removing viruses.

Skills

• Should be result-oriented, self-motivated and able to work under minimum supervision
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• High level of integrity and demonstrate team work
