Job Description

Part 1: Business Context & Main Purpose of the Role in the Business.

Lipton Tea and Infusions operates two Tea estates namely Munini and Kibeho as well as one production facilities in Kibeho. The business also employes approximately 1500 employees and is focused on biodiversity through maintenance and indigenous forest as well as fuel wood plantation. The purpose of this role is to provide strong leadership and capacity development to multi-disciplined teams. It also prioritizes process improvement, skills training, and personal development of all team members to enable delivery of an effective incident response process as well as technology surveillance objectives in line with budgets, best practices and company frameworks.

Part 2: Detailed Accountabilities

  • Continuous review of existing security risks as well as emerging security risks and propose mitigation measures.
  • Liaising and coordinating effective security operations amongst personnel within the third-party providers in line with service level agreement.
  • Provide leadership to hands leadership to Lipton security officers and Kibeho factory security command center.
  • Coordinate incident response in liaison with the security manager including rapid response unit officers to ensure safe arrests, incident response through emergency providers.
  • To support and manage team delivery of performance targets and call out poor performance as recognition is done in line with business process.
  • Build strong, effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
  • Identify training needs for the supervisors and security officers to ensure timely delivery on the job training.
  • Ensure effective maintenance of alarm systems within factory offices and management residential areas,
  • Compile and distribute daily operational security situational and incident notification reports from all incidents.
  • Conduct periodic security audit and compliance of all facilities, security systems, equipment’s and security teams to close all gaps.
  • Support in driving security safety culture across the operational unit through deep compliance audits and safety behavioral observations.
  • Must be agile/flexible flexes plans and leadership style to meet changing situations with urgency.
  • Perform any other as reasonably directed by the manager security or delegate or by Lipton and Infusions management.

Part 3: Skill Profile

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS word computer documents
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda
  • Proficient security training and discipline deployment skills
  • Facility security risk assessment, hazard risk assessment skills in a complex industrial environment
  • Advanced incident response, coordination skills and business continuity planning
  • Basic understanding in business presentation and concise communications
  • Basic practical preventive maintenance technology skills for electronic security systems.

Relevant Experience

  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in security team leadership role, security operations & maintenance.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in disciplined forces preferably in the military.
  • Seven years’ experience in managing physical security processes including guarding, weighbridges and technology.
  • Have a valid driving license category A both A&B is a plus.
  • At least five years security experience within multinational company or equivalent in a 3P security company.
  • Three years’ experience on hands on implementation of security technology systems command centers.
  • Sound understanding of principles in the protection of company information, including information asserts and measures requires to achieve this.
