Position Overview: The accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the financial decision-making process. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
  • Maintain Monthly Average Receivables Days not exceeding 30 days by ensuring timely invoicing and payables at 1.5x of A/R days. Minimum expectation: Monthly statements sent to clients & no aged receivables >90 days.
  • Work closely with project team to achieve an annual net profit margin of 6% of total turnover measured against invoices values.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Support the budgeting process by monitoring expenditures, analysing variances, and providing insights for budget adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations by preparing and submitting necessary tax returns and reports.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Prepare regular financial reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial trends.
  • Assist in the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and information to external auditors.
  • Conduct cost analyses to support decision-making regarding pricing, project feasibility, and resource allocation.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and facilitate smooth financial operations. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of local tax laws, financial regulations, and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience in accounting or a similar financial role.
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger functions, month-end/year-end close processes, and account reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with tax regulations, compliance requirements, and auditing procedures.
  • Experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate financial statements, budgets, and reports.

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
